Education, not therapy
Mindixwell programs are general educational content about emotional well-being. They are not psychotherapy, psychological counseling, psychiatric or medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and they are not a substitute for care from a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or other licensed professional. Using them does not create a professional and client relationship with anyone.
The lessons explain, in plain language, ideas and practices from well-established approaches in psychology, and refer to published books where helpful. Where a lesson describes what a practice can help with, it describes what people commonly find, not a promise about you.
When to see a professional
Please talk to a doctor or a licensed mental health professional, rather than relying on these programs, if:
- your feelings are intense, last for weeks, or make it hard to work, study, sleep, eat or look after yourself or others;
- you have, or think you may have, a mental health condition, or you are already receiving care for one;
- you are experiencing panic attacks, flashbacks, or distress linked to a traumatic event;
- you are using alcohol or drugs to cope;
- you are grieving and the grief feels unbearable or is not easing with time.
If you are already in care, speak with your professional before starting a program, and follow their advice over anything written here.
If you are in danger
If you are thinking about suicide or harming yourself or someone else, or you are not safe where you are, call your local emergency number or a crisis line now. We list numbers for many countries on our get help now page. Mindixwell cannot respond to emergencies, and emails to us are not monitored around the clock.
Relationships and family
Couples Connection and Family Harmony are for the everyday friction of shared life. They are not suitable, and the communication techniques in them can be unsafe, where there is violence, threats, coercion or fear. In that situation please contact local emergency services or a domestic violence helpline instead.
Exercises
The exercises are gentle and optional. Skip anything that does not feel right for you. Breathing and grounding practices should feel calming; if one makes you dizzy or more distressed, stop and breathe normally. None of the exercises ask you to revisit traumatic memories, and you should not use them for that.
Your responsibility
You decide whether and how to use the lessons, and you are responsible for seeking professional help where this notice says you should. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the lessons. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.
